The opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Individual Product Development & Marketing, the Manager of Marketing Communications will develop and implement internal and external marketing communications strategies for the Individual products, concepts and sales initiatives. You will also manage a team that will help to implement these plans and increase brand awareness of our key value propositions. What you'll do:
Develop and implement marketing communication strategies for the Individual division
Budget for and manage the effective use of print and promotional materials throughout the year
Ensure that the marketing communications produced in the Individual Division are compliant with external regulations and internal guidelines
Coordinate the marketing communication work for the Individual division across internal business partners, corporate communications and field communications with MGAs & Advisors
Launch communications and ongoing promotion of the Sales Conference to RSMs, Advisors and distribution partners
Create and maintain training materials and presentations on products, sales concepts and other marketing opportunities to facilitate the training of producers/advisors, MGAs, and regional managers
Write creative and/or technical internal and external communications
Act as key stakeholder for the individual elements of both the corporate website and advisor website design
Work with the Graphics Services department on the design and production of materials
Manage the day-to-day staff activities and their professional development and performance
Conduct annual staff performance appraisals, and address performance-related gaps and learning opportunities
What you'll need:
A minimum of 5 years directly related marketing experience, specifically in insurance
Diploma or Degree from a recognized College or university degree in English, Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or a related field
Superior and diverse writing skills
Experience managing staff and coordinating production of marketing communication and promotional activities
Experience working and collaborating with other managers, designers and suppliers
Experience with co-ordinating special events, trade shows and conferences
Demonstrated success in program and strategy development and delivery
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced work environment
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
In depth experience working with creative designers and knowledge of basic design principles an asset
Ability to lead creative development including strong understanding of best practices
Exceptional marketing campaign management/event coordination skills
Strong knowledge of Internet delivered applications and promotions
Bilingual, spoken and written (French and English) an asset but not required
